On 5th September 2025 we celebrated with reverence to all teachers and gurus, the Teachers’ Day in our Sri Prasanna Veeranjaneya Yoga Kendra, a prestigious wing of SPV Seva Trust.
Sri Vijayakumar M, Assistant Professor, MES Institute of Management and our senior student to be graced the occasion as our Guest.
Nagesh welcomed Sri Vijayakumar and the friends of SPV Yoga Kendra for the Event. He recalled, Teachers’ Day is celebrated to honour the dedication and hard work of teachers everywhere in India, on the 5th of September, the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He mentioned that Dr Radhakrishnan was a great teacher, philosopher, is considered one of the most influential and distinguished 20th century scholars.
On the occasion our young Monisha gave a confident talk and mentioned that Teachers’ Day is celebrated in India on 5 September, the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (5 September 1888 – 17 April 1975). He said that Dr Radhakrishna was the second President of Independent India. He was an academician, philosopher and statesman who served as the President of India from 1962 to 1967. He was the vice president of India from 1952 to 1962 and the ambassador of India to the Soviet Union from 1949 to 1952. Dr Radhakrishna was also the vice-chancellor of Banaras Hindu University from 1939 to 1948 and of Andhra University from 1931 to 1936, little Monisha added.
Sri Prasanna K R spoke on the important role a teacher plays in shaping the students’ career and building a strong nation. In his pleasant voice, Sri Keshava A S, one of teachers of SPV Yoga Kendra, taught the audience the celebrated Bhajan ‘Guru Hamare Mana Mandirame Guru Hamare Praan | Sare Vishva Ka Vo He Dhata Narayana Bhagavan’
Speaking on the challenges being faced by school and college teachers, Sri Vijayakumar pointed out the lowering of the standard of teaching in recent years. He emphasised the importance of imbibing values in the present-day students.
All students also celebrated Birthday of Guest Sri Vijayakumar who turned 48 today.
With vote of thanks, sweet distribution and National Anthem, the celebration concluded.
