Plantation Of 300+ Medical Plants
In an effort preserve & nurture environment, on 5th Sep 2021 friends of Sri Prasanna Veeranjaneya Yoga Kendra, Bengaluru visited Medicinal Plant & AYUSH Wellness Centre, developed & maintained by Karnataka Antibiotics and Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Yoga students had on earlier 3 occasions planted 300+ medicinal plants at this Centre. After breakfast at the 25-acre greenery students planted new 140 medicinal saplings {of 12-15 varieties}. They were very happy to watch growth of trees they planted earlier. Yoga Kendra Students spent time with children of nearby residential school for the visually challenged students “Belaku Academy” managed by a Trust -created by born-visually impaired Mrs Ashwini Angadi, at very her young age of 24 years. This school houses 35 students (blind, partially blind) from very poor family in remote places of Karnataka & southern states. Yoga Friends with admiration the chorus with tabla and key board rendered by differently enabled children. Mrs Ashwini has won, among others, the following prestigious awards: a) United Nations Special Envoy for Global Education’s Gordon Brown Youth Achiever’s Award – given in New York b) Queen’s Young Leader Award given by Queen Elizabeth II in London c) One of the People of the Year 2016 by Limca Book of Records. Students distributed fruits, biscuits and food items; From Yoga Kendra a purse of Rs.10,000 was given to the Trust. Students also visited nearby Gandhi Vriddhashrama. In this old-age home maintained, since refurbished with improved facliities by Sri Ugraiah on 3/4th acre land has 140 inmates. It was jaw-dropper for many yoga students to interact and hear stories of the inmates of the Oldage Home.Yoga Friends gave fruits and biscuits for the inmates of Vriddhashrama. At the beginning of the Day Students attended felicitation on the Teachers Day to M/s Raghavendra & Nagesh organized by Vasavi Club at Mahalakshmipuram.
