Celebration of 1st International Meditation Day, 21st December 2024

On 21st December 2024 between 6 am and 7.30 am we Celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety First International Meditation Day in our Yoga Kendra. Following were the spotlight of the Event:

  1. Two separate sessions were arranged,
    a. one Lecture-demo on Sound Healing by Friend Sri Harish K Raju, trained Reiki and Sound Healer and
    b. Talk on Meditation by By Sri H T Devaraj, a senior spiritual achiever (Saadaka) and guide
  2. Expert Artist and Yoga Coach Smt Lata Hegde created an attractive Rangoli-art suitable to the occasion
  3. Inviting the gathering of 70 students and yoga practitioners for the program, Nagesh gave a brief account of the 6th Dec 2024-decision of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) declaring December 21 as the World Meditation Day (IMD). The objective behind this decision is to encourage meditation for enhancing mental health and overall wellness. India’s Global Leadership with its commitment to global wellness persuaded UNGA in taking this decision. UNGA has announced “Inner Peace, Global Harmony” as the Theme for the year 2024, Nagesh added. Nagesh introducing both the guests Sri Devaraj and Sri Harish Raju for the IMD, he thanked them for accepting invitation of the Trust to give lectures and demonstration.
  4. Sri Harish K Raju the experienced Reiki and Sound Healer, Career counsellor and Genetic Brain Profiling Consultant, explained how sound healing therapy could help overcome stress & anxiety and bring about emotional and spiritual well-being. Using many singing and vibrating musical instruments such as copper/bronze bowls Conch Shell (Shunk), he gave wonderful experience of sound healing to the gathering. Suggesting to participants attempt deep meditation, contemplation/inner-thought and shifting over periodical intervals their attention on seven different chakras (energy points in our body) Sri Raju created vibrant aura and made them experience the profound sonic universe.
  5. Sri Devaraj H T, senior spiritual thinker, community worker spoke how practitioner of meditation can practice and achieve peace, truth and ultimately realise presence of God. He distributed, free-of-cost, to all participants the book entitled “Thoughts for Thought-II”, a compilation of useful inspirational and spiritual quotations penned by him
  6. Participants celebrated 52nd birthday of humble yoga practitioner of SPV Yoga Kendra, Sri Vishwanath on International Meditation Day, today. Sri Vishwanath distributed sweets to all 70 participants.
  7. The program concluded with nice breakfast.
