On 23rd Feb 2020, friends of Sri Prasanna Veeranjaneya Yoga Kendra visited the following places off Magadi Road, Bangalore
- Medicinal Plant and AYUSH Wellness Centre, developed and maintained by Karnataka Antibiotics and Pharmaceuticals Limited. We were happy to watch good growth of 250 medicinal saplings we planted on earlier two occasions. We were happy students of residential school for the visually challenged students “Belaku Academy” joined us for the visit to this Wellness Centre.
- “Belaku Academy” managed by a Trust created by Ms Ashwini Angadi. It was heartening to note that born visually impaired young Ms Ashwini Angadi at very her 24th year established the School 6 years back bringing 35 students (blind, partially blind) from very poor family in remote places of Karnataka and southern states. We spent time with lovely students and watched with interest the documentary prepared by Government of Karnataka on Ms Ashwini Angadi, who has owns, among others, the following prestigious awards:
- prestigious United Nations Special Envoy for Global Education’s Gordon Brown Youth Achiever’s Award. The award was given away in New York in 2013 as part of the Malala Day Celebrations.
- Queen’s Young Leader Award of UK given away on June 22, 2015 in London and was honoured by Queen Elizabeth II and
- One of the People of the Year 2016 by Limca Book of Records 3. Gandhi Oldage Home abode for 100 senior and under under-privileged citizens. This Ashram is developed and maintained by Sri T Rudraiah, a civil contractor and philanthropist. We spent couple of hours with the inmates of Old Age Homes. We heard quite a few heart-rending stories and experiences of inmates…. While a few had accepted their present position and leave in peace in the Old age homes, many were not able to reconcile.
