International Yoga Day Celebration By Namma SPV Yoga Kendra

Celebration of fifth International Yoga Day most meaningfully and with gaiety. Chief Guest of the Occasion, Sri Sri Sri Veereshananda Saraswati Swamiji conveyed his greetings on the Celebrations of International Yoga Day. Taking pride that Yoga is being practiced around the world, Swamiji mentioned that several countries in the world are showing their gratitude to India for presenting and introducing the concept and practice of yoga for the benefit of humanity. Speaking on the subject ‘Vishwamanava Swami Vivekananda’ Swamiji mentioned that Swami Vivekananda introduced and popularized four types of Yogas, abroad. He recalled famous quote “start a good school today, and avoid construction of a hundred prisons tomorrow” of Swami Vivekananda. At the important Awards Ceremony during on the Event, Yoga Kendra, through Sri Sri Sri Veereshananda Saraswati Swamiji conferred, titles
  • “Yoga Chature” on the world-renowned Young Yoga Champion from Mysore Kumari Khushi

  • “Yoga Bhaskara” on Mangalore Sri Gopalakrishna Delampady, who gave free yoga training to over 200,000 people and

  • “Yoga Marthaanda” on renowned Yoga Mudra Exponent Dr. K. Rangaraja Iyengar. All the three Guests of Honour who received the titles passionately shared with the congregation their thoughts on the importance of Yoga and Mudras.

The cultural programs, namely, devotional music, Bharatanatya dance and yoga-formations provided by the students of Yoga Kendra received appreciation by the audience.
