Celebrating Ganesha with Devotion, Creativity and Care for Mother Nature
Date: Sunday, 6th September 2026
Venue: Sri Prasanna Veeranjaneya Yoga Kendra, Bengaluru
Organised by: Sri Prasanna Veeranjaneya Seva Trust
Sri Prasanna Veeranjaneya Seva Trust conducted a hands-on workshop on making eco-friendly Ganesha idols using natural clay and agricultural grains at Sri Prasanna Veeranjaneya Yoga Kendra on Sunday, 6th September 2026.
The programme commenced on an auspicious note with the collective chanting of two traditional Ganesha prayers — “Vakratunda Mahakaya” and “Shuklambharadharam”, invoking the blessings of Lord Ganesha for the successful conduct of the workshop.
The workshop was led by Smt. Lata Hegde, along with enthusiastic Yoga practitioners, who patiently guided the students in creating their own Ganesha idols. About 50 kg of prepared soft clay, a variety of agricultural grains and simple tools were provided to the participants.
The response was highly encouraging. Around 55 participants, including Yoga students, children and their parents, took part in the workshop with great enthusiasm, devotion and dedication. A total of 41 beautiful eco-friendly Ganesha idols were created during the session.
One of the most delightful aspects of the workshop was the creativity and individuality of the participants. No two idols were alike – each reflected the imagination, artistic expression and devotion of its creator. The use of natural clay and grains also reinforced the important message of celebrating festivals in an environmentally responsible manner.
To add to the joy of the occasion, biscuits, Badam Milk and sweets were distributed among the participants.
This workshop marks the sixth Ganesha idol-making initiative undertaken jointly by Sri Prasanna Veeranjaneya Seva Trust and Sri Prasanna Veeranjaneya Yoga Kendra. Over the years, the initiative has grown into a meaningful tradition that combines devotion, creativity, community participation and environmental consciousness.
The programme successfully conveyed a simple yet powerful message:
“Let us welcome Lord Ganesha with devotion, celebrate with creativity, and care for Mother Nature.”
The Trust thanks all the Yoga practitioners, students, parents and volunteers who contributed to making the workshop a joyful, meaningful and memorable celebration of Ganesha and our commitment to the environment. 🙏🌿
